Kathmandu to Dhangadhi

Arrived at the Kathmandu domestic terminal to find they had built a new building after John's previous visit six months ago. Check-in went smoothly, we passed through two security checks, although I'm not convinced they knew what to look for in the bag scanner as everything went through without any concern. I took a couple photos of the group before reading the sign (see below).

Sign in top right of previous photo. Oops, not the best idea.

Amazing flight along the Himalayas to Dhangadhi on our Yeti Airlines 30 seater, twin propeller aircraft. We knew it would be a noisy journey as the stewardess handed out sweets before departure, she also had cotton wool on the tray. Some were a little nervous flying in such a small airplane. Perhaps they weren't used to the Fokker Friendships that used to fly out of New Plymouth.

The temperature at the Dhangadhi Airport reminded us how close we were to the Indian border. We were met by a number of the Pastors in Dhangadhi and taken to our hotel, the Devotee where we were able to recharge the batteries with showers and air conditioning - luxury!

From there it was a free afternoon to explore or just relax.

Just and aside, the All Blacks even made it into the Nepalese newspaper:
